Oak Pavilion, Gloucestershire

This organic structure was designed by Mark Hoare. Its purpose is in part to fill the gap left by a dead Cedar of Lebanon which had occupied a pivotal position in a garden but then fallen victim to honey-fungus.

The spire marks the gap left by the cedar, and the roof protects some of the remaining trunk, including a meandering low branch from which hangs an eclectic collection of bird feeders.
