Ted Ridge

MA (Hons) BA Arch Dip.Arch RIBA

Before founding Hoare Ridge & Morris, Ted worked for architects and urban design practice 5th Studio in London and Cambridge. His previous experience includes a low-carbon refurbishment of Grade I listed buildings at Trinity College Cambridge, a sports facility next to the Olympic Park for Hackney Borough Council and a wide range of residential work including alterations to listed buildings and a Passivhaus housing project.

Ted has a passion for the intelligent alteration of existing buildings to modern uses and how sensitive adaptions can improve energy efficiency to the benefit of both building and occupier. A thoughtful designer and careful in detailing and project delivery, he takes a particular delight in how the careful use of materials affects the experience of architecture and how new design engages with and develops existing architectural language.

Ted read Philosophy and Theology at Edinburgh before training as an architect. He studied at Greenwich Univeristy, London Metropolitan University and qualified at the University of Cambridge.
